Nairobi National Park Half-Day Safari Itinerary Duration: ~4–5 hours Best Time: Early morning (best for wildlife sightings) ________________________________________ ⏰ 6 AM – Hotel Pickup / Meet Your Guide • Depart from your hotel or meeting point in Nairobi. • Pack light: water, camera, sunscreen, and binoculars if you have them. • Dress in neutral colors and bring a jacket—it can be chilly in the early morning. ________________________________________ 🚙 6:30 AM – Enter Nairobi National Park • Arrive at the Main Gate or East Gate. • Entry fees: o Citizens: Ksh 400 (adult), Ksh 215 (child) o Residents: Ksh 1,200 (adult), Ksh 600 (child) o Non-residents: $43 (adult), $22 (child) ________________________________________ 🐘 6:30 AM – 10:00 AM – Game Drive • Safari in a 4x4 vehicle or safari van with pop-up roof. • Look out for: o Lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, black rhinos, impalas o Hippos and crocodiles at Hyena Dam o Birdwatching—over 400 species here! • Great views of wildlife with Nairobi’s skyline in the background. • Optional quick stop at the Ivory Burning Site Monument ________________________________________ ☕ 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM – Picnic or Rest Stop • Stop at designated picnic sites like Kingfisher or Impala Viewpoint. • Light snacks or coffee break—some tours provide this. • Stretch your legs and take photos. • • • 🛻 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM – Final Game Loop & Exit • One more short loop around the park before heading out. • Possible sightings of different animals as they become more active again or head to water. ________________________________________ 🎁 Optional Add-On (Time Permitting): • David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage – Opens at 11:00 AM (must be pre-booked) • Giraffe Centre – About 30 min away from the park • These are great if you're still in the mood for wildlife! ________________________________________ 🚗 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM – Return to Nairobi / Hotel Drop-off • End of your half-day adventure.
